A website is a collection of pages, typically common to a particular domain name or sub-domain on the World Wide Web on the Internet.  A web page is an HTML/XHTML document that is accessible via HTTP.

The World Wide Web is comprised of all publicly accessible websites that are in existence.  Once you enter a website, the other pages will be accessed from a common root URL called the homepage.  Pages are organised into a hierarchy by the URL.  However, it is the hyperlinks between them that control how the reader perceives the overall structure and the traffic flow between the different parts of the sites.

It is often the case that a website requires a subscription to access some or all of their content.  Such sites include Internet pornography sites, parts of many news sites, gaming sites, message boards, Web-based e-mail services and sites providing real-time stock market data.
